My Links
Links pages are usually a coherent collection of links addressing some particular topics. My links
pages isn't like that at all. My links page is an unashamedly random collections of things I wanted to
put on here ;-)
Things to do:
Favourite Arty Stuff
These are some links to some of my favourite arty stuff out there.
Museo Del Prado: http://www.museodelprado.es/index.php?id=49&L=5
Located in central Madrid, the Prado is quite possibly my favourite art gallery anywhere in the world.
Bosch, Botticelli, Rubens, Goya, Velazquez, Titian - take a journey through European history. Bible
stories and Greek/Roman tragedies never looked so good!
World Press Photo Awards: http://www.worldpressphoto.org/
Sometimes depressing, sometimes grisly, sometimes exhiilirating - the annual World Press Photo
exhibit is a collection of the most stunning photos from the previous 12 months taken by photo-
journalists out there on the front line of current events.
Wildlife Photographer of the Year: http://www.nhm.ac.uk/wildphoto
In contrast to the World Press Photo awards above, the annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit
at the Natural History Museum in South Kensington, London, is almost guaranteed to bring out all your
warm fuzzies. For those not in London, the organisers publish an annual hardback coffee table-type
book based on each year's exhibition simply called "Wildlife Photographer of the Year".
Travel Photographer of the Year:
The leading annual travel photography competition, it also publishes a regular coffee table-type book
based on entries recieved.
Favourite European Festivals
Here are links to my two favourite festivals over on the european continent (well, my two favourite of
those that I've been too so far ;-)
Exit Festival, Serbia: http://eng.exitfest.org/
Four days of fun over 25 stages set in a medieval fortress on the banks of the Danube river in Serbia.
Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada, Richie Hawtin and Green Velvet were my personal highlights.
Sonar, Barcelona: http://sonar.es/portal/eng/home.cfm
Sonar and Barcelona were basically made for each other: the classiest dance music festival in the world
set in the classiest city in Europe.
Cool London Stuff
Carnaval Del Pueblo: http://www.carnavaldelpueblo.co.uk/portrait.htm
The largest Latin American Carnival in Europe, usually held on the first Sunday in August, it starts
with a big parade of all the Latin American communities through the streets of south-east London
before arriving in Burgess Park, where multiple music stages, beer tents, Latin American food
stalls and general fun and frivolity rule the day.
Personal Stuff:
Ski Video
My mate Richy recently made this You-Tube style video of 15 of us kiwis taking on the French Alps in
February 2007 - I think its pretty cool, well done Richy!

Sir Skip and Carbon Off-Setting
The friend of mine who did most of the hard work on this website, so I just had to do the easy bits,
even if I didn't find them that easy at first! http://www.olmec.co.nz
He has also set up New Zealand's first online Carbon offsetting tree planting scheme which you can
read about here: http://www.carbon.org.nz
